Amani National Congress (ANC) party Leader Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi has blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for what he termed as planning to use Sh2 billion to launch the new Jubilee party.
While addressing mourners during the burial of former Kenyan ambassador to Somalia the late Joshua Odanga in Shinyalu constituency Kakamega County on Saturday, Mudavadi said it is ridiculous for the leaders to plan to use such an amount of money to launch a political party.
“We are being told that Jubilee party will be launched at a tune of Sh2 billion. My friend, people are poor, hungry and there is no medicine in our hospitals yet you plan to use that kind of money to launch a political party? This is a total contradiction,” said Mudavadi.
The Jubilee Alliance affiliate parties have been folding up in readiness for the grand merger to form Jubilee Party.
Affiliate party delegates will converge for the Jubilee National Convention on 9th and 10th of this month, where the new party will officially be launched.
New Ford Kenya, The National Alliance (TNA) and United Republican Party (URP) are some of the parties that have already folded to form Jubilee party.
The president and his deputy will use the party to defend their seats in next year’s polls.
