Musalia Mudavadi's ANC is after all contemplating to exit from NASA marriage in preparations for 2022 elections, reveals the Sunday Nation.
Raila, who still insists that he will take oath of office, may never again make it to a presidential ballot paper given his previous MoU with NASA leaders.
And Lugari MP Ayub Savula now was the party is not keen to chart its own path, a move that will avoid living in Odinga's political shadow.
"As ANC, we do not want to be caught up in the ODM or NASA confusion," said the second term MP.
He added: "We want to chart our political future early enough by marketing Mudavadi as our flag bearer."
But political scientist Gideon Mamboleo says Mudavadi's political destiny without Raila Odinga's backing will be as good as 'dead on trial'.
"He needs Raila more than anything else. The huge political following Raila enjoys will be perfect if he inherits it."
