NASA has promised to lower the rent once in power and the main question has been how the initiative will be implemented.

NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has come out to explain how the opposition will fulfill this promise.“In a free market economy, you will increase stock. We will increase the number of low-cost houses in major cities and counties. The increased supply will reduce rent rates. There are also proprietors who are conning tenants by providing poor quality houses and charge more. Some are ruthless and pull dowm doors if you fail to pay rent. There are also cases where buildings are collapsing. We will deal with them,” Mudavadi said.On the land issue, the land economist promised to the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report. Mudavadi said they will start with areas that are worst affected like Samburu.“We will deal with issues that were brought up by the TJRC. Issues like historical and economic injustices. Areas like Samburu suffered from independence eve injustices that allowed foreigners to own large pieces of land. We must reconcile the investments that will enable pastoralists to benefit. We must establish dialogue,” Musalia said.
