The opposition coalition NASA has broken its silence over the recent tour of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to Kakamega County.

The duo campaigned in the county over the weekend, pulling sizeable crowds in a bid to galvanize its support in Western Kenya, a perceived Opposition stronghold.

But speaking earlier on Sunday, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi dismissed claims that the ruling party has made considerable inroads into his home turf, maintaining that the region is firmly under the Opposition's grip.

“People of western Kenya are democratic and that is why they turned up in Jubilee campaigns. This does not mean that Jubilee will win Western Kenya votes, they are solely behind NASA,” he noted.

Jubilee will be relying on Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka, Water CS Eugene Wamalwa and a host of other local leaders to campaign for the re-election of President Kenyatta.
