Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has regretted that justice has never been served to the victims of post-election violence (PEV), a decade later.

Mudavadi accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto of abandoning the victims by failing to compensate adequately those whose properties were destroyed and those killed during the chaos that almost torn the country apart.

"No one can account for the number of IDPs whose figure has kept mutating even as at now. For Jubilee, IDPs was a custom made conduit to siphon billions. Since 2014, billions have been spent ostensibly to resettle or compensate IDPs. Accountability is anathema to Jubilee on this," he claims.

In his end of year message to Kenyans, Mudavadi says the possibility of a repeat of the violence still lingers due to injustices allegedly committed by Jubilee, even in their perceived strongholds.

The ANC leader, who led the ODM side in midwifing the peace accord, notes that the unresolved issue of IDP property being forceful appropriated has postponed the problem rather than resolved the Kikuyu-Kalenjin love-hate relationship.

"The Rift Valley is a powder keg waiting to explode courtesy of a fake political deal that guarantees no long term co-existence between communities. The uneven 'reparation' treatment of IDPs has created resentment in communities," Mudavadi said.

He said despite Uhuru and Ruto 'coming together', their communities have not ended historical relations of prejudice, intimidation, hostility and violence.
