The three, Kakamega Senator Cleopa Malala, his Vihiga counterpart George Khaniri and nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi are accused of disrespecting Mudavadi after they accused him of deliberately skipping the function.

Also absent were Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, a move the three termed as cowardice and betrayal.

According to Mudavadi, who however said that the trio has a right to its own opinion, the three leaders' conduct is unacceptable, adding that Malala's reactions are as a result of the excitement associated with holding an elective office for the first time.

''All ANC members have a right to their opinion but this must be done decently,'' he told the media from his office Tuesday.

''This is also to blame on the excitement of people who are in office for the first time and are now thinking that the best way to gain more prominence is by insulting their party leaders,'' he added.

The party has since announced plans to take punitive measures against the three.

Odinga was sworn-in as the People's President in Uhuru Park Nairobi.
