Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has said he is the best candidate the National Super Alliance (NASA) can field to battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the August general polls.
Mudavadi, who was appointed the Luhya community spokesperson, has asked Cord leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula to pave way for him to go for the nation’s top seat.
According to Mudavadi, the massive support he enjoys from his community makes him the ideal candidate to defeat Uhuru.
In an exclusive interview with one of the local vernacular stations, Mudavadi insisted that he is ready to contest for the Presidency if given the mandate to become the opposition’s flag bearer.
"I stand a better chance of carrying the NASA flag from among my peers ODM leader Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula because my native community which is the single largest voting bloc in the country, is fully behind me," he said as quoted by the Standard.
The other three leaders have also expressed interest in the Presidential seat as the next general elections draw closer.
