Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has said he is the man who cleaned up the mess created by one of the mega scandals in Kenya’s history.
In an exclusive interview with the Nation, Mudavadi criticised leaders who have been asking him what he did for the nation since he joined politics.
"I rescued the country from a pariah status; it is I who cleaned up the Goldenberg scandal mess," he said.
"I streamlined the financial sector by creating Central Bank independence. I safeguarded tax collection by establishing the Kenya Revenue Authority."
The outspoken leader also said he played an immense role in the liberating the communication sector in the country.
"It is I who expanded freedoms by presiding over liberation of the communication sector so that today you enjoy a variety of media outlets and even that mobile phone is a result of my work," he said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta had claimed that Mudavadi was in power when he was still in school but he did nothing for the country.
Mudavadi, Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula among other leaders have affirmed to come up with a working strategy to dethrone Uhuru in August.
