Wamalwa also claims that the research was done without involvement of top leaders from the larger Western region.

In an interview with the press on Monday, the National assembly Minority Whip labeled Mudavadi a spokesperson an ‘Atwoli spokesperson’ and insisted that the move was not welcome.

“You cannot conduct a fake research with preconceived opinions and tell us you have found a spokesperson. That is so backward and the move is not welcome at all,” he said.

“He remains an Atwoli spokesperson because none of top leaders from Western were consulted. This kind of politics are outdated and should be resisted by all means," Wamalwa said.

On Saturday, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli convened a rally in Bukhungu stadium where he unveiled Mudavadi as the spokesperson on Luhya community in his attempts to unite the ever shaky region.
