NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has dispelled claims that the opposition and Wiper party leader is to blame for the 2007/08 post-election violence in the country.

"We cannot blame Kalonzo Musyoka for the 2007/08 post-election violence. It is unfair to say that his move ditch Raila and run for presidency is the cause pf the poll violence in that period. The main cause of violence in the 2007/08 post-election is mainly attributed to the rigged polls in that period," said Mudavadi.

Mudavadi further downplayed the impact Kalonzo's utterances may have to the NASA coalition.

Mudavadi believes that Kalonzo endorsing himself as the best bet for the coalition's ticket is to up his stakes against the other candidates.

"The recent calls by Kalonzo saying that he is the best bet for NASA are not a threat to the coalition's unity. Kalonzo is only upping his stakes against the other NASA candidates and that is normal," added Mudavadi.

Mudavadi made the remarks during an interview on Citizen TV's Cheche show on Wednesday.
