ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi is leading the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition in its fight to remove IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba. The NASA leaders accused top Jubilee Party officials of influencing the tender awarded to a Dubai firm to print voting materials. ODM leader Raila Odinga, NASA’s presidential flag bearer, has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has strong ties to Al Ghurair Printing, which won IEBC’s Sh2.5 billion tender. Mudavadi has claimed that the President’s brother, Muhoho Kenyatta is a local agent of the Dubai-based firm.“We have established that the CEO of this firm is an intimate friend of the Kenyatta family and a frequent guest at the home of Muhoho,” Mudavadi, Raila’s chief campaign manager, said. “It has become abundantly clear that the awarding of the tender was influenced by Uhuru. The President cannot be the procurement manager in chief for IEBC,” the ANC leader added, as quoted by the Star. Then NASA leaders called on Ezra Chiloba and IEBC director of election operations Immaculate Kasait to step aside over alleged involvement in the matter.
