Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has urged the Luhya community to unite in order to influence politics in Kenya.
Speaking at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega during the unveiling of the community’s spokesperson, Mudavadi said disunity is among the reasons why the Luhya community has no say when it comes to national politics.
According to Mudavadi, unity will not only make the community to be respected by also give them authority to bargain in matters of politics.
“We must unite and become one thing for us to be respected by others and make an impact in the political leadership in Kenya,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
The leader also said he was going to work with Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga to come up with a strategy to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in 2017.
“Now that you have given me a new role, I will go to look for Raila immediately we are finished with this event,” Mudavadi said.
The meeting was attended by various leaders including Yusuf Chanzu (Vihiga MP), Ayub Savula (Lugari), Benjamin Andola (Khwisero), Alfred Agoi (Sabatia), John Bunyasi (Nambale), and Charles Gemose (Hamisi).
Paul Otuoma (Funyula) and Geoffrey Odanga (Matayos) also attended the meeting.
