The registrar of political parties, Ms Lucy Ndung'u has written to Mudavadi's Party, Amani National Congress telling them to resolve their differences amicably or face its tribunal.The registrar of political parties accused the party for failing to put in place an internal dispute solving mechanisms as advised."Now the only option left would be for the Political Parties Tribunal to look into the complaints raised," Ms Ndung'u said in a letter to the party through the secretary General Barrack Muluka.The disputes arose after eight members of the party filed a petition at the registrar's office challenging the appointment of Barack Muluka as the Secretary General.Two factions in the party are threatening to split the party as one is in support of Mulula as Secretary General and the other is calling for elections to fill his position.The party has also been drawn out in tedious legal battles. In one petition, some official claimed minutes of the meeting that picked Muluka as the SG were forged hence fraudulent and exposes some other party officials with criminal charges.“ANC did not conducted free and fair polls to elect new officials as per the Constitution and therefore replacement of former SG Godfrey Osotsi by an interim one violated the law,” Evans Nyaribo, a complainant to the registrar of political parties said.Kakamega senator, Cleo Malala on Tuesday called for the party to conduct fresh polls picking its office bearers.
