The Luo and Luhya community living in Mombasa have reached an agreement to work together to in a bid to clinch the Nyali Parliamentary seat during the upcoming general election. 

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi ratified the agreement during his last tour in the region, the Star reports. A week before Mudavadi took the National Super Alliance (NASA) campaigns to the region, Nyali Abaluhya Association organized a series of meetings with the aim of negotiating the said deal under the chairmanship of Clement Wasike.According to the daily, Mombasa Luo Council of Elders also held meetings aimed at coming up with structures that relate to the said agreement.The agreement states that the Luhya will give up the MP seat for the Luo in return for the Mkomani MCA slot and other seats.The Luo elders agreed to rally the electorate behind Wiper Party Aspirant Simon Adalla.The Nyali Parliamentary race has attracted different influential politicians including former KTN investigative journalist Mohamed Ali popularly known as Moha Jicho Pevu. Other aspirants in the race to succeed Nyali MP Hezron Awiti include Said Saleem and John Mcharo. Awiti has declared interest in the Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
