National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto of bribing the electorate ahead of August general elections.

In an exclusive with Citizen Digital, Mudavadi castigated the Jubilee leaders for allegedly using public resources to drum up support for the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader cited the recent compensation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kisii and Nyamira counties as a way manipulating voters ahead of polls.

He also questioned the issuing of title deeds to squatters by President Kenyatta in various parts of the country, saying the Head of State was ‘blackmailing’ Kenyans.

“Why are they doing this now, where were they? They are using public resources to bribe Kenyans and this should be condemned,” he said.

Mudavadi also reiterated that Cabinet Secretaries campaigning for their boss President Kenyatta should be charged in a court of law.

“The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko must file charges against the CS’s and other government officials for taking part in Jubilee campaigns which is contrary to the law,” he added.

Among the Cabinet Secretaries the Opposition alliance is targeting for prosecution include Fred Matiang’i (Education), Eugene Wamalwa (Water), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution), James Macharia (Transport), and Najib Balala (Tourism).

The others are Cleopa Mailu (Health) and Joseph Nkaisery (Interior).

Principal Secretary Joseph Njoroge (Energy) and Kenya Revenue Authority chief John Njiraini are also on the list.
