Speaking to the Nation on Monday, Bosire said Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, who has been championing the formation of the outfit should consider joining CORD instead of forming another coalition.

"There have been similar coalitions whenever the country moves closer to elections but they fizzle out soon after the polls. Mudavadi was with us at first and he jumped out. But if he is ready to come back so be it. He is welcome," said Bosire.

He said ODM was not interested in the NASA formation but was working on bringing all the Opposition leaders into the CORD coalition to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year's polls.

"CORD is a strong coalition that enjoys massive support in all parts of the country. We are looking forward to build a stronger coalition that will ensure President Uhuru is not re-elected come 2017," he added.

Political analysts have speculated that the CORD partners are careful not to join another coalition to avoid escalation of conflict in the process of selecting their presidential flag bearer.
