Amani National Congress (ANC ) leader Musalia Mudavadi, a NASA co-principal, has voiced his concerns over the recent outburst by some Wiper leaders with regards to Kalonzo Musyoka's candidature.

On Tuesday, leaders from Wiper led by National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, gave a 7-day ultimatum to the NASA team to announce Kalonzo as the coalition's presidential flag bearer or they will bolt out.

Nyenze is holding firm that the MoU that was signed in 2013 between Kalonzo and Raila Odinga stipulated that, the ODM party leader was to support Kalonzo's presidential bid in 2017, a position that Raila is playing blind to now, according to Nyenze.

However, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has added his voice to the issue that now seems to build up tension and cracks in NASA unity.

Mudavadi, while addressing a press conference at his party headquarters in Nairobi minutes after the now infamous 'Nyenze declaration' said he cannot weigh in on the MoU matter because he was not privy to the document that the two leaders signed in 2013.

"I was not part of the agreement that was signed by Cord parties so I cannot comment on it," he said.

Wednesday evening after Nyenze's remarks, Wiper party through Secretary General Hassan Omar stated they were firmly in NASA and committed to removing Jubilee from power.

“…let me reiterate Wiper’s unwavering commitment to NASA. Wiper is further conscious of its obligation to this nation and its posterity to bring to an end Jubilee’s misrule. Wiper believes that this can only happen through a broad opposition front to face Jubilee during the August 8th, 2017 general elections. Conscious of this fact, Wiper will support any decision as to who becomes the flag bearer,” Omar said.
