Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi has appealed to all Luhya community political players to support him in the quest to unite the Luhya community.
“It is a huge task but if we remain together, we will achieve our goal and win respect, however, I will not manage it alone so I appeal for your unwavering support," Mudavadi said.
Speaking on Saturday shortly after being unveiled the community's spokesperson, Mudavadi confirmed that he is going to reach out to Cord Leader Raila Odinga, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Bomet governor Isaac Rutto and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula in a move that seeks to strengthen the opposition ahead of the 2017 polls.
“Now that you have given me a new role, I will go to look for Raila immediately we are finished with this event,” he confirmed.
The ceremony was held in Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County and presided over by COTU boss Francis Atwoli.
The function was, however, snubbed by key leaders from the community including CORD co-principal Moses Wetangula and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
