Speaking at Sarang'ombe ward in Kibera, Mudavadi said that he is the suitable candidate to run for the presidency and run the country smoothly unlike the current leadership.

He noted that people in the slums lack essential requirements of life such as water, good housing, and roads.

He urged residents to support his presidential candidature in 2017.

"Being in politics for many years, I have the experience to run this country as the next president. The current leadership is bad and should not be allowed anymore in 2017. As Kibera residents if you vote me as the next president, I will ensure the standards of living within the slums has improved without discrimination," he stated.

"For several years now, people living in the slums have faced a lot of challenges such as lack of water, houses being razed down by fires and poor roads. As the next president, my government will be your government since everyone will benefit from it," he added.
