Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi on Friday visited Kisumu County, the political turf of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The visit is the first of its kind since the duo's fallout after Raila's famous handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta that marked the 'death' of the giant opposition NASA coalition.
The former Vice President who seems to be charting his own political path after that fallout with the ODM leader was accompanied by Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi.
Addressing the residents, Mudavadi noted that for the reconciliation talks which have been initiated by Uhuru and Raila to bear fruits, there is need for IEBC reforms to be given a priority even as he reluctantly backed the much-talked referendum to amend the constitution.
" It is important to look at the constitution and make constructive reforms with the Bomas draft as the foundation of the reforms," Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi met various Bunge la Wananchi groups, and freely mingled with the locals even as the main agenda of his Kisumu visit remains a mystery.
As to whether he is testing the ground in Raila's political turf remains to be seen.
