Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has cautioned Water CS Eugene Wamalwa to be wary of the Nairobi gubernatorial race since he is perceived as an imposed candidate.
Speaking to a local publication Mudavadi said although the decision lies in the hands of voters, but they tend to disagree with an aspirant imposed on them.
“That will be determined by voters in Nairobi. What I know is that voters across the board do not like to feel that someone has been imposed on them. You only need to look down our history to affirm that,” Mudavadi said.
Wamalwa endorsement by a section of the Jubilee Party leaders has met serious opposition from a section of Nairobi County politicians.
Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko, who is also eying the same seat under the Jubilee ticket has hinted at running as an independent candidate should he fail to get the Jubilee ticket.
