The former Sabatia Member of Parliament said that ditching the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) for Jubilee was tantamount to committing political suicide.

“I have read and seen media reports alleging that Ababu Namwamba destined for Jubilee after ditching ODM. That amounts to killing your political career,” the former Deputy Prime Minister said.

Mudavadi who was a presidential candidate in the 2013 general elections spoke when he made roadside rallies in Chavakali market of Vihiga County just a day before Cord leader Raila Odinga kicked off his tour in the Western region.

While speaking in other functions, Deputy President William Ruto confessed he was behind the mass withdrawal of Western leaders especially the Luhyas from ODM, including the resignation of Ababu as the secretary general.

However Ababu dismissed the DP's statement saying he was in the process of discussing with other Luhya leaders for some changes but had no intention of joining the ruling party.

Mudavadi urged leaders from Western Kenya to team up with his party that has already taken root so they could create a formidable third force which will be an alternative to Cord and Jubilee.
