Speaking on Friday in his New Year message to Kenyans, Mudavadi said that voters needed to consider the grand corruption by officers in the government as the reason to send home the Jubilee administration.

"The Auditor General says three-quarters of our budget is lost to corruption. I call upon Kenyans to resolve that. 2017 is the year of change. We must forge unity of purpose to reclaim our country. Kenya must return to the path of accountability, truth and justice," he said.

He said that the Jubilee government had used 'valueless' development project to deceive Kenyans amid a huge public debt.

"Valueless grandiose projects have been shoved into Kenyan faces with little immediate economic value, yet we are saddled with a Sh3.6 trillion public debt," said Mudavadi.

Mudavadi added that Jubilee were not embarrassed about stealing but instead were regretting not coming into power early enough to enhance theft.

"I do hope Kenyans have had enough of Jubilee and will take a stand against corruption in August 2017. We know most of the borrowed money ended up feeding the gluttony of a corrupt elite cartel," he added.
