Mudavadi, who has since found a reunion with his past ally Raila Odinga, said that top of their agenda was to find the sole candidate and begin countrywide campaigns to oust the Jubilee government.

“Those saying it's February are not speaking from out of the blue. Remember when we talked about it with Tinga [ODM leader Raila Odinga], we alluded to the same date,” Musalia said as quoted by the Star.

His sentiments were echoed by those of ODM director of elections Junet Mohamed who said that the name could come out even earlier.

“I can confirm there are plans to unveil the presidential candidate by February,” he said.

Earlier during the ODM delegates conference in Nairobi, party leader Raila Odinga had said that their leader would be named before February this year.

“They will be surprised with the team we will put forward. We are preparing ourselves and I am sure we shall be together by February,” Raila said.
