Western leaders were angered by the move and, as a response, have revealed a strategy they intend to use to counter Odinga's 'treachery'.

Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi said today that Western will contest the 2022 presidential elections through one party.

They said that the divisions in the region had made it easier for outsiders to take advantage of them.

''We want to give good news to the Mulembe nation and the people of Kenya will go into the next elections with one party,'' Mudavadi said today.

The two leaders were speaking today in their Western backyard where they have been holding public rallies.

Their tough words come in the context of deep tensions within the opposition outfit NASA.
