National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) are in Vihiga County addressing a series of rallies as they consolidate the Western region's support following Wetangula's ouster as Senate Minority Leader.
The two are in the company of Ford Kenya Deputy Party leader and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who is among politicians against Wetangula's removal from the Senate's prestigious position.
They are expected to address rallies alongside other ANC and Ford Kenya leaders from the former Western province in Majengo, Mbale, and Chavakali in Vihiga County before landing in Bungoma on Sunday where they will hold a rally at the heart of Bungoma town after attending a church service in Kanduyi.
Mudavadi is among leaders unhappy with NASA Senator's decision to oust Wetangula from his Senate Minority Leader's position over what they claim emanated from the Bungoma Senator's disrespect for them.
The former Sabatia MP's anger spilled even further when he refused to attend a NASA meeting convened by opposition Raila Odinga to discuss Wetangula's troubles earlier in the week.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Wetangula and all Senators allied to NASA attended.
Mudavadi said he could not attend the convention as he was scheduled to address an ANC boardroom meeting the same day.
There has been a backlash against Raila from Western Kenya and specifically Bungoma County after Wetangila was ousted as Senate Minority Leader and replaced by his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.
