NASA co-principals Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi deserted Raila Odinga at a city hotel minutes to swearing-in, reports the Saturday Standard.

Prior to the Tuesday event, all NASA principals had failed to agree on the administration of oath which had caused anxiety all over the country.

On the material day, Mudavadi and Wetangula met Raila DusitD2 hotel along Riverside Drive where lawyer James Orengo vowed to defend them in court if arrested.

"Orengo was very clear that the oath was in line with the law and he was ready to defend them in court," a source said.

He added: "At around noon, both Mudavadi and Wetangula were non committal and would leave minutes later on grounds that they would join at Uhuru Park."

What followed was a frustrated Raila making desperate calls to NASA principals who were reportedly not responding.

Thrilled by enthusiastic crowd through a video, Raila decided to make entry to Uhuru Park where he hurriedly took oath.
