Jubilee Party’s onslaught in the Western region could hit a snag after rivalry between Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi heads to end.

Latest developments indicate that the two are willing to cooperate ahead of August 8 elections.

Mudavadi and Wetangula met on Monday in Nairobi in a bid to merge forces as the campaign trail across the political board garner momentum.

Mudavadi was declared the Luhya spokesperson at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on December 31, last year.

Reports are rife that the duo shall have multiple rallies in solidarity starting at Mudavadi’s home turf, Vihiga County.

It is expected that the former Sabatia legislator and Bungoma Senator, also the Minority leader at the Senate will be embarking on a voter registration drive in Western region before the IEBC exercise comes to a close.

A report by The Star states that Western region should anticipate a series of rallies to source for unity of the Mulembe voting bloc.

Wetangula’s party Ford Kenya had distanced itself from the endorsement of Mudavadi as the region’s point man in December.

The political magnitude of the region is still unclear credit to the dissenting voices on fronting one candidate for polkitical bargain in the opposition coalition.

Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo recently announced that he will be vying for presidency, a move that could split the region’s political focus.

Observers say if Mudavadi and Wetangula agree to work together, it will poke holes into Jubilee’s mechanism of securing the Luhya vote.
