ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula who are both NASA co-principals are just 'flower girls' in the newly formed coalition, political analyst Martin Andati has said.

Andati has said that NASA presidential ticket is likely to go to Raila while his likely running mate will be Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is the only co-principal who comes from the eastern bloc.

"Raila will be NASA flagbearer while Kalonzo will be selected his running mate for regional balance sake. Mudavadi and Wetangula are from the western bloc and their chances of deputising a western bloc candidate (Raila) is unlikely and that is why Kalonzo comes in hand," Andati said on Tuesday on Qwetu Radio.

This he said will complicate things for Mudavadi and Wetangula as they will have a hard time convincing the Luhya bloc why it should remain in NASA with nothing to show for it.

"The two will have a very hard time convincing the Luhya community which is the most populous in NASA. Both of them went to hunt but will come home with nothing. The Chief Minister and Prime Minister positions being talked about, it should be remembered well are not provided for in the constitution and it all depends whether NASA will win," added Andati.

In Nairobi, the national capital where Luhyas could wield some real power, Andati said, again has Evans Kidero and Jonathan Mweke who are Luo and Kamba respectively.
