It is not yet known the agenda of the rally but it comes on the peak of confusion within the NASA coalition that led to the removal of Wetangula from his prestigious position.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Ford Kenya party announced that the two leaders, before the rally, will jointly attend a church service within Bungoma town.

"NASA principals Senator Moses Wetangula and Hon Musalia Mudavadi, will this Sunday, 25th March at 8:30am, attend a church service at Christ the Kings Catholic Church, Bungoma town then later in the afternoon hold a public rally. Branding and re-branding," the statement read.

Bungoma is home to Wetangula and is occupied by the Luhya community that overwhelmingly voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga during the August 8 elections. Both Mudavadi and Wetangula are Luhyas.

Wetangula was on Monday ousted from his post as Senate Minority leader and replaced by his Siaya counterpart James Orengo after allegedly disagreeing with a section of NASA-allied Senators on the management of opposition politics in the upper house.

His removal also came at a time when ANC, Wiper, and Ford Kenya-allied MPs called for the removal of John Mbadi as Parliament's Minority leader after Raila announced that ODM, which he leads, would work with the ruling Jubilee party.

Mr Mbadi was elected on an ODM party ticket.
