Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has assured his supporters that he will not defect from the National Super Alliance (NASA) whether he is the alliance's presidential candidate or not.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Jambo on Tuesday, Mudavadi said his main mission is to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power.
The former Deputy President was categorical that he will not bolt out of the political outfit in the event that he is not picked flag bearer.
Mudavadi, who was crowned the Luhya spokesperson last year affirmed that he was ready to shelve his presidential bid if that is the only way to save this nation from poor governance.
"A good parent is one who fends for his children under whatever circumstances, [and] as a good parent, I cannot give birth to a child and then abandon it midstream," Mr Mudavadi stated, as quoted by Nation.
The Luhya political kingpin has, however, maintained that he is better placed to dislodge the current leadership from power if given the chance to become opposition flag bearer.
