In his New year statement to the nation, Mudavadi said they will not bow down to the big man syndrome because they believe Kenyans need to get the right leaders in the coming polls.

“We regret the return of suppression of democracy and the shrinking space for freedom of conscience, thought and expression as manifested in harassment of journalists, the emasculation of civil society and invasion of private space and violation of the individual by the State,” Musalia said.

Mudavadi also said the fact that their push for dialogue with the Kenyatta government was ignored, in 2018 they will push the government to the limits to ensure there is respect to the rule of law and good governance.

“The New Year is going to be the Year of Accountability. We will push for accountability everywhere in public life, we remain committed to a free and equitable society where the fruit of our labor is the source of our pride,” he said.

“We are also witnesses to a sinister ploy to starve county governments of funds to bring them to their knees,” he added.

Musalia asked Kenyans to work together and save the country from destruction by the Jubilee administration.
