Disposed Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is ‘jovial’ and looks forward to concentrate on his new life in farming, says his nephew, Leo Mugabe, reports the BBC.
After over three decades on the thrown, the veteran African leader resigned following pressure from the military, which later on installed sacked Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa as president.
“He is fine. I have been to see him and he is quite jovial,” Leo, a son to Mugabe’s late sister, Sabina Mugabe said.
He added: “He is actually looking forward to his new life in farming and staying at rural home. I believe he will settle very fast.”
A cross friend of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mugabe’s ouster coincided with Uhuru’s inauguration, a reason that explains the veteran leader’s absence from Kasarani.
In 2015, Mugabe shared podium with Uhuru at Dar es Salaam during the inauguration of President John Magufuli where they condemned ICC ‘attitude’ on African leaders.
“War unto you imperialists. WE are not going to allow you to colonize us. We are a free continent,” he said in reference to Uhuru’s woes in ICC.
