Nation Media Group CEO Joe Muganda has announced that he will be leaving the media house after his three year stint at the company.

According to reports, Muganda is set to take over as CEO in VIVO Energy following the exit of Nairobi Deputy governor Polycarp Igathe in May.

Igathe was forced to resign following his appointment to government after securing victory with Governor Sonko back in August.

The appointment of Muganda follows an announcement by Vivo over the acquisition of Engen's operations in Kenya.The deal will see Vivo secure over 300 fuel station in various African markets..

Muganda has served in several senior positions at the British American Tobacco, Unilever and Barclays Bank.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science in economics, accounting and financial management from Buckingham University and also holds a MBA from the University of Leicester.

According to NMG Chairman Wilfred Kiboro, Muganda excelled when it came to corporate and regulatory affairs and general management which he managed to build throughout his career at various multinational coprorations thoughout Africa.
