This follows the killing of a yet to be identified man, who was found slashed with machettes on Friday morning by thugs near the railway line.

“From Muguga Bridge near the railway all the way to Acre Tano, the place has become a very dangerous place especially at night. If police could increase their night patrols here, things would be better because even carjacking is rampant,” said Nderitu wa Kamau, a resident.

The murdered man was found by a farmer in the area, who had gone to fetch Napier grass and alerted the Chairman of Community Policing in the area, Henry Kinyua.

“The way we found that man showed that he had battled with his attackers for long before they killed him because his phone and one of his shoes were on the rail,” said Kinyua.

Kikuyu Police Station OCS Joshua Arende confirmed the incident, saying investigations into the man's killing have started.

The man's body was taken to City Mortuary, Nairobi.
