The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared  Muhoroni MP James K'Oyoo on Saturday.

K'Oyoo who is running on an ODM ticket aims to defend his seat in the upcoming August 8 elections.

This follows a case in High Court with former MP Ayiecho Olweny claiming that there were many irregularities during the primaries in April.

The Appeals court ruled in favor of K'Oyoo on the basis that his nomination was unjustly nullified even though evidence proved he had won.

"The decision is hereby nullified and K'Oyoo declared the duly nominated ODM candidate for the Muhoroni MP seat," the ruling reads in part as reported by The Star.

Judges William Ouko, Jamila Mohammed, and Eastus Githinji made the ruling on Wednesday.

K'Oyoo was quick to thank those who supported him during the tribunals and stated that the ruling was victory for his supporters ahead of the August 8 election.

"I want to ask my supporters to sell my policies and consolidate votes for NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga," he said.
