Muhoroni MP Onyango Koyoo is set to disburse Sh13.8 Million Uwezo Funds to over 100 women and youth groups in his constituency.

The fund is aimed at enabling the beneficiaries to start income generating activities to improve on their lives and earning capacity.

Speaking to the press on Monday in Muhuroni, the MP said the funds will be distributed to women and youth groups that have qualified and have already been trained.

He further added that the funds will enable the groups expand their savings in order to promote their economic well being.

“If you use this money wisely, it will change lives and help reduce poverty amongst our people, that is why it is key to manage the funds well,” said Koyoo.

The MP noted that the remaining qualified groups will also get the cheques after two weeks to empower them economically, urging more groups to come out and apply for the funds as long as they were able to repay them.

“Am urging the locals to ensure that they are able to repay the amount to enable other applicants also to receive the funds,” added Koyoo.

Koyoo also asked the locals not to politicise the funds but work with the government for development irrespective of their political leaning.
