Speaking at Chemelil roundabout on Wednesday when he issued out the cheques, the area MP Onyango Koyoo said the fund has been distributed well to students studying in the constituency who had made applications for the bursary.

Koyoo said the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for the constituency was Sh100 million and he has managed to allocate part of it to pay for school fees for the needy students.

He said all orphans, partial orphans and those students who have demonstrated that they are from needy families have been catered for.

“We also consider students with both parents but who demonstrate that the parents are not able to pay the school fees,’’ he said.

Koyoo said education remains his number one pillar. He added that he will strive so that no student misses to go to school as a result of lack of school fees during his term.

The MP urged the beneficiaries of the bursary disbursement to ensure they work hard in school.

“The challenge now remains with the beneficiaries, they have to work hard and prove that they really deserved the bursary,” he said.
