Police in Muhoroni, Kisumu are pursuing a man who allegedly killed his wife on suspicion she had an affair with another man.
The suspect, Shem Nyamita, 53, stabbed his wife, Maurine Adhiambo, 43, three times on the chest with a knife killing her on the spot.
Mr Nyamita, a headteacher at Oyani Primary School in Koru Township killed the wife, also a teacher after they picked a quarrel over the alleged love affair.
Muhoroni Police boss Muthuri Mwongera said the suspect is on the run and they are pursuing him.
He said the deceased had gone to visit their child in Ugunja, Siaya County but failed to return home which angered the husband.
He said Mr Nyamita also went and slept outside the home in retaliation after the wife failed to show up.
“The man thought the wife spent the night at the alleged lover’s house,” Mwongera said.
The deceased also realised that the husband did not spend the night at home after she was informed by one her children triggering a quarrel.
“When the wife asked him where he spent the night, the man locked himself with the wife in their bedroom where he stabbed her to death before escaping,” he said.
