Muhoroni Youth FC’s hope of participating in the 2018 Kenya Premier League (KPL) season suffered a major blow on Monday. This is after the High Court in Kisumu dismissed the club’s application for an injunction to bar the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Kenya Premier League Limited from relegating them. The team under Chairman Moses Adagala wanted their relegation halted until a case they filed challenging their relegation from the top tier league, is heard and determined.Muhoroni Youth finished bottom of the 2017 KPL table. The club’s leadership had moved to court to challenge relegation from KPL arguing that the side was disadvantaged in 2017 following an earlier decision by FKF to relegate the team alongside Sofapaka at the start of the 2017 season, for failing to comply with club licensing requirements. The two sides (Muhoroni and Sofapaka) were later reinstated to KPL by the Sports Disputes Tribunal after they moved to court to challenge their dismissal.Muhoroni’s application has been dismissed and the 2018 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season will now commence as scheduled on the first weekend of next month.Vihiga United and Wazito FC who finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the 2017 National Super League have already replaced relegated sides Muhoroni Youth and Western Stima. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Kisumu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
