[Photo/Muhuri]Human Rights organisation MUHURI held a security and youth leaders training aimed at addressing issues of radicalization and extremism and the perennial conflict in Tana River county.The organisation said the intervention will assist in identifying youth groups who can be peace ambassadors and reduce the risk of engaging in criminal activities"We are not shy to mention that most a times youth in this region are used by powerful individuals to cause conflict on their advantage," Muhuri said in a communication on Saturday.The mapped out groups will also be the fulcrum between the existing security structures in both state and non state actors like the Court Users Committee (CUC) and the Nyumba Kumi Initiative, according to the organisation.Over the years, Muhuri has worked with the community in various fronts, ranging from conflict resolution, eradication of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), human rights, security, among others in Tana River county.
