Former Cabinet Minister Mukhisa Kituyi has termed ANC Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Moses Wetang’ula as 'mere jokers' in their bids to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta during 2017 general election.
The United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNTDC) secretary general said the two presidential hopefuls from the Luhya community have yet to show seriousness in the race to State House.
‘’We are only remaining with very short time to the election and we are not seeing any seriousness with our brothers,’’ said Kituyi.
Speaking during a burial ceremony at Naitiri village in Bungoma County, Kituyi said despite the two declaring their candidature early enough, their popularity is still wanting.
‘’These two brothers of ours have declared to go for the presidency but their popularity is not being felt countrywide,’’ said Kituyi.
He castigated the two for concentrating their campaigns only in the Western region, urging them to change tact and focus in the whole country. Kituyi, who was a close Mudavadi ally in the 2013 poll, reminded them that mounting a presidential campaign is not a walk in the park.
Musalia Mudavadi has been in talks with ODM party leader Raila Odinga to form National Super Alliance (NASA). They have vowed to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power.
