The Kenya 15s rugby national team, Simbas, will be carrying a five point advantage when it hosts neighbors Uganda in the return clash of the Elgon Cup in Nairobi on 24 June, and skipper Darwin Mukidza has assured of a better game after a nervy output in Kampala last Saturday. [Photo/courtesy]Kenya led 10-0 at some point but let that lead slip through their fingers to trail 18-10 going into the break at Legends but a majestic show in the second half of the game saw Kenya end it 23-18 winners, setting the tempo for a tight return match.Mukidza was instrumental in the comeback and he hopes with a few corrections, it can be completed back at home when the Simbas get to play in front of their fans for the first time since the 29-30 defeat to Germany in May.“We will go back home and work on our positives; clear out our errors and try to keep the ball much more. That way it will get to work for us,” he said as interviewed by the Kenya Rugby Union.Last time the two sides met in Kenya, in 2016, Mukidza grabbed three tries as Kenya won 48-10. The Simbas may not hit that high again, having been shaky ahead of the coming clash at the RFUEA Ground, but the skipper believes with a good focus on the team’s strengths all will be fine.As he lauded fans for showing massive support in Uganda, he rallied fans back home to get behind the team once more in the return leg.Meanwhile, head coach Jerome Paarwater admitted heading to the clash they did not expected an easy affair and backed Uganda for a successful run in future.The win in Kampala saw Kenya rise a place up in the world rankings, to 25th, trading places with Portugal who fell 21 – 25 to Brazil.
