Mataara tea factory director Joseph Mukora Wa Kimani has been restored in office in the ongoing KTDA directors elections with no opposition.
Mataara residents are satisfied with the management of their factory by the director who has not only made the factory ISO certified but has also initiated mega projects in the factory.
Speaking to various residents from Mataara, no one seemed to object Mukora being reinstated in office.
Some of the interviewed residents on Thursday lauded Mukora for his proven leadership that has rendered the factory surpassing the two neighboring factories Gachege and Ngere tea factories in growth for two years.
"We are glad that no one has come up to campaign against Mukora who has been in leadership for six consecutive years now. He has brought projects that have seen the cost of production in the factory lowered increasing our returns. We want him back for more developments," said Francis Chege a tea farmer in Gichagi village.
"Mukora is a good leader. He has engaged our county leaders to renovate our remote roads which are now passable unlike some years ago. He has also been very participative in church developments. He does not only manage our tea but has also been vital in the growth of our community here," said Dorris Muthoni a tea farmer.
Mataara tea factory is among the 66 tea factories managed by KTDA that have elected new directors for their factories.
