Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli has indicated that the Western Kenya region ('Mulembe' nation) will cast its presidential vote in one basket.

He said ever since the Luhya spokesperson was announced in December last year, things have changed in the region.

“Today, after 31st December 2016 things are not the same in western Kenya,” said Atwoli.

“Currently now in western Kenya people are speaking in one voice, and I promised before that the ballot box for presidency in western Kenya will be one,” he added.

The Cotu boss further noted region only had two popular politicians who were leading the community.

“And now, the political leaders of the Western Kenya are only two; Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula. They are now the people who are leading whether they remain in Nasa or not,” he said during a television interview, Wednesday.

He also reiterated that he has played a big role in uniting the Luhya community.
