A Machakos County MCA has called on fellow leaders and the opposition to stop fighting the government and instead give them time to deliver their promises to the public.
Speaking at Ndithini Shopping Centre on Monday, area MCA Joseph Muli, claimed that some Cord leaders do not appreciate any achievement by the government and that they are always fighting them and thus forcing them to delay development in some areas.
Muli told the leaders to give the government space to deliver their manifesto and ask for the people's votes come 2017 where they will do as they have been instructing the government to do when in leadership roles.
"It's not good to always make political noises which have no benefits. It's too early to campaign and pressuring the government is denying some citizens developments as the government doesn't visit the opposition stronghold areas mostly,” he said.
He added, “Until when will we lag behind others in both leadership and developments as Ukambani people? We need to unite and leave those in leadership to work as we watch and correct not criticise everything."
The legislator further insisted that bitter and hate utterances should never be tolerated among the leaders and anyone that utters such remarks should be prosecuted according to the law.
He added that the presidency deserves its respect and no one should go contrary to the constitution and be let free.
