Outgoing Mumias Sugar Company MD Errol Johnson. Photo/ standardmedia.co.keMr Nashon Aseka has been appointed the new Managing Director (MD) of Mumias Sugar Company. He previously worked at the company as the factory manager and will replace Errol Johnson.
The company’s Board chairman Dr Kennedy Mulwa confirming the appointment asked all stakeholders at the company to support the new MD.
“Yes, he has been appointed to head the company. We are restructuring the management to ensure the company returns back to its normal operations. The board has agreed to fire some of the managers to ensure efficiency at the company and we want everybody to support the new team. We have to get back the company to its feet,” Mulwa told the Standard.
Mr Aseka’s appointment comes a day after the government promised additional 3.6 billion to bail out the sugar company. He is expected to steer the company out of its woes to profitability.
