Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali has told off Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi over his ultimatum that he quits Jubilee Party.

The MP said Mudavadi should not question their decision to join the Uhuru Kenyatta-led party yet it was the former Vice President who led them there after UDF negotiated a deal with Jubilee.

"He took us into the new marriage with Jubilee and we are comfortable in the marriage. He should not ask us to divorce," Washiali said.

According to the MP who was speaking in his constituency on Sunday, Mudavadi entered into an agreement with Jubilee Coalition after the 2013 elections and as such, he (Washiali) was made the deputy Chief Whip of the government in Parliament.

He added that the ultimatum by Mudavadi for them to quit JP is an insult to MPs from the region and the electorate at large.

The vocal MP added that he supported Mudavadi's candidature in 2013 and helped him get 8,000 votes in his constituency.

Mudavadi has since quit UDF and formed the ANC party which he intends to use as a vehicle to State House in 2017.
