Barely two years after re-hiring Australian Errol Johnston to turn around their fortunes, Mumias Sugar is shopping for a new CEO.
The company has called for applications that should be received not later than May 17.
“Reporting to the Board of Directors, the chief executive officer will be responsible to the board for the implementation of the strategic, operational and financial plans of the company,” the company said in a paid advertisement.
The company did not however reveal Johnston's fate and whether he has resigned or been fired.
The Australian took over at Mumias in August 2015 after the management reappointed him for the job.
He previously served in the same capacity between 1998 and 2001.
Last month the CEO shut the company temporarily for a three-month routine repairs and maintenance to “take advantage of the prevailing weather conditions.
This year, the government has lined up another Sh1 billion for the company's bailout and Sh239 has already been released earlier this year.
