Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has launched a scathing attack on Governor Amason Kingi for allegedly issuing tenders to companies from other counties.

Speaking at Wananchi cottage in Kilifi Town during a meeting with the Somali community representatives, Mung’aro said it is unacceptable for the county government to issue tenders to other companies whereas there are many investors who qualify for the same in Kilifi. He also lashed out at Kingi for allegedly failing the county's residents during his term in office. “The current county administration has failed you. Why should it give tenders to companies from Mombasa and Mandera yet you also have companies that equally qualify for county jobs and contracts. That, we shall change,” said Mung'aro, as quoted by the Nation. Mung’aro urged the Somali community to support his gubernatorial bid, adding that he will fight for them if he ascends to power in August. The outspoken MP further said he will work with all communities to transform Kilifi County during his reign in office.“I will work with everyone. I will incorporate you in my administration and it is not only the Somali community but even other communities that calls Kilifi their home, despite coming from other regions,” he added.
